Hi! I’m Carla.
I’m a creative industry career coach who helps young professionals land internships and jobs in industries like fashion, beauty, lifestyle, entertainment, and more.
I specialize in helping you become the top candidate with a strong strategy, boosted confidence, and insider knowledge you won’t find on job boards.
I built my own career in fashion from scratch — no connections, no shortcuts — and spent 13 years in PR, marketing, and celebrity relations. I held director-level roles at top fashion PR agencies, led in-house brand teams, and was even invited to the White House by First Lady Michelle Obama for my contributions to the fashion industry.
After a successful pivot, I now work as an executive-level marketing consultant for pet health and wellness tech startups, as well as fashion and beauty brands — and I help others do the same: grow, shift, and thrive in careers they love.
Over the years, I’ve spoken at universities like Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Ohio State, Kent State, and Fordham, as well as for companies like Bloomingdale’s and Create & Cultivate.

I’m also the founder of FreeFashionInternships.com — a fashion internship listing platform trusted by brands like Hermès, Saint Laurent, Jimmy Choo, Oscar de la Renta, and more.
I hold degrees from UC San Diego (B.A. in Communications), Columbia University (M.S. in Strategic Communications), and Harvard (M.A. in Management), and I’ve taught Strategic Fashion Communications and PR at the graduate level as an Adjunct Professor at LIM College.
Bottom line?
You can take control of your career and do work you actually love. I’m here to help you get there.

“Since our first call, I have felt more motivated and sure about my decision to pursue a career in fashion after leaving my first job after college. Carla helped me regain the focus I had lost as I went through my career transition and helped clarify the next steps I needed to take.
On our most recent call she left me with the following: "Your performance will always be dependent on your inner voice." This was something I really needed to hear at a time when I was struggling with self-doubt and it gave me the impetus I needed to believe in myself and my abilities.”

“Thank you for helping me revise my resume and cover letter! Before working with you, I was barely contacted for interviews. After our session, I used my new resume and was contacted for 5 interviews within 2 weeks. I was offered two internships on the spot because they were so impressed with my resume, despite me not having much fashion experience. I couldn’t believe it!
I am very happy to let you know that I will be starting the sales internship at Tanya Taylor on Monday. Again, I greatly appreciate you, and your exceptional service.”
